Jia CURATED 2025

Bayang-Bayang: The Lives Behind the Scenes is an interactive installation designed by Lumbung Architect for Jia CURATED 2025, exploring the unseen roles, personal journeys, and quiet contributions that shape our lives. Inspired by the festival’s theme, Evolving Perspectives, the installation invites visitors to look beyond appearances and reflect on the stories behind every individual.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Balinese wayang, the design transforms the symbolism of light and shadow into an immersive experience. Abstract silhouettes, soundscapes, and heartfelt narratives guide visitors through a journey of self-reflection, encouraging them to recognize the often-overlooked efforts and choices that have shaped their identities.

More than an exhibition, Bayang-Bayang creates a space for human connection, cultural appreciation, and introspection. Through this interactive experience, we invite visitors to acknowledge their own journeys and discover that, among the many shadows in life, they are the light behind their own stories.
